It was because of my interrupted Internet. So I tried Orbit Download Manager but unforunately it was unable to catch the download by itself from my browser. Then I tried Free Download Manager and it was no good either. :(

At last I asked a friend of mine what do he use, and he said Internet Download Manager. I have heard of this before but its a paid software so I never used it before.

And then I downloaded it and it worked like a charm. Thanks to IDM its free to use for 30 days.

So all you need is just IDM and trust me its better than other Free Download managers I mentioned above.

Chat Wars isn’t a game, I’m just saying. Its just that I’ve been fighting with my friend over petty issues over Facebook. :p

Currently my typing speed is around 35-40 words per minute. When I pawn some people over TypeRacer it miraculously increases. :p

But when following rules of typing, (that is not pressing certain keys by random fingers), my speed come down. :/

You might see some little line on keys F and J. Those are made f or the typist to relocate their finger without looking at the keyboard like we do :p

But not many 4G phones yet being in India. :/

But you can access high speed Internet using the 4G dongle. Which I guess you may find in the Airtel stores in Kolkata.

It will provide access to about 5 times higher speed than the present 3G, and so you’ll be able to watch T.V. in HD, and Video Conferencing, that too in HD.

I wonder what will they charge for their HD services, because at present the still expensive 3G failed to attract many people. Video call does not have quality, so its always better to make a voice call, but the Internet service are quite good, but many of us still love the 5 INR per 50 mb of Slow 2G Internet over Rs 60 per 50mb of High Speed 3G Internet.

But what will you do if you got to install some script not present with Fantastico or Softaculous.

In order to learn that we are now going to install WordPress and just for your information I must tell, installing any other script is just similar to that of installing WordPress.

Things we need to have/know:

If you had gone through my previous post which is the successor of this post and followed each and everything, we’re good. But for those lazy people who are not yet subscribed to my mailing list and have not read the previous post, you need to have a

-hosting account with PHP and MySQL (use 000webhost.com its free)

-a domain pointing to your hosting (stop being lazy read the previous post if you don’t understand this)

Okay stop saying I’m lazy, it just means to have a domain registered, for example I registered MyExampleDomain.tk on dot.tk for free and changed its name servers as required.

-a pastry or peanut butter sandwich. :) You know it why !

Working of a script or WordPress.

First of all I’m no genius who knows everything. So I cannot explain it working deeply.

A script or WordPress requires a MySQL database and group of PHP/HTML/JavaScript etc files interconnected in order to bring out a geometry or what we call a Website.

So in order make a script working we will be required to create a MySQL database and relate the script with that database. This is mainly done by “config.php” file.

In case of WordPress it is “wp-config.php” if you don’t see it in the WordPress version you downloaded, look for “wp-config-sample.php” we will rename it later.

So first of all go to your hosting account cPanel.

-Look for MySQL there and click it (of course)

-Create a database and user there, and note that MySQL host for your account there (in case of 000webhost.com). Usually MySQL host is localhost.

-Once we have created the database with a user go back to cPanel and click on phpMyAdmin.

There you will see your database and user

-Now enter phpMyAdmin, you will see something like this

-Create some arbitrary table as I did in above image.

When you click go, you will se something like this

-Now fill the blanks with some default values or whatever I’ve done and leave the other spaces blank and don’t ask why, because I don’t know ! :p

Then click on “Go”

Then you will see this

If you don’t see something similar, repeat the above step.

It says no Index Defined, leave it,  if something happens wrong we will come back. :p

Now cloce the phpMyAdmin window, its job is over.

Now we have a database, with some name.

In particular case of mine: a4630188_db

A user defined to that database with some name.

In particular case of mine: a4630188_us

A password for that user.

In particular case of mine: ************

Seriuosly !

Database host: mysql2.000webhost.com

Note that it is not localhost in case of 000webhost.com

You will find your database host in MySQL manager in your cPanel.

Till now, the above steps are common in installation of any script.

Now download a copy of WordPress from WordPress.org/download

Now using the file manager in your cPanel or using any other FTP cliet program upload the WordPress zip file to the public_html of your host.

Upload from where the uploaded zip file will be decompressed in the directory as shown.

Or if you have some other script, do the same.

Once the uploading is done, we will have a wordpress folder with all the neccessary WordPress files, either leave it as it is or move all the files to public_html if you want your blog to be on MyExampleDomain.tk

For now I’m leaving it as it is and will use redirecting script on homepage to redirect visitors to myexampledomain.tk/wordpress.  See here.

Now we will install the WordPress. This will simply be done by visiting our site, myexampledomain.tk/wordpress

Now simply follow the onscreen steps.

fill in the required details.

And then run the install by simply following onscreen instruction and bingo ! You’re a Web Master from now.

But in case of installation of some other script you would have been required to fill the details like database name, user and MySQL host in config.php manually.

Now go have a look at myexamledomain.tk

I used the redirection script, if you need it simply download this file redirection script ready made page (10)

and change the address redirected to and the text.

Okay then we will make it together. :)

First of all things we need (I will define any of the required term there itself):

1.) A Domain, a domain is the address of your website where you wants to show up your content. Eg. google.com, s2pd.com etc. You can register one at any of the sites like name.com, godaddy.com etc. But if you’re not willing to pay a penny you may go to dot.tk or co.cc and register one free domain.

2.) Web Hosting, web hosting refers to hosting of the contents of your website. You may buy up a hosting plan from sites like 000webhost.com (recommended). But rather you may go and sign up for a Free Hosting account there only. Its reliable and I’m myself hosting two of my sites there.

3.) A little knowledge about working of MySQL and web designing. But if you don’t know anything, don’t worry I’m here to help you out. :)

Just kidding, I’m no master at those things. :p

Seriously !

4.) Muffins and Cold Drinks, you know you need to has food regularly. :D

Now let us proceed.

1.) Look for an available domain. For example I did below at dot.tk.

2.) Get a hosting account. As for example I did on 000webhost.com

Activate your account you will se this.

Then go to CPanel.

There you will se your name servers. Copy it to clipboard.

Name servers are the address which makes a particular domain to point to you hosting.

3.) Now go back to dot.tk where you looked for a available domain and register it.

Click on Use DNS tab. DNS refers to Domain Name Server or simple Name Servers.

And now paste your Name Server you copied in 2nd step.

Once you’re done with the above three steps you got to wait. Till then you may eat up the muffins I said you will need. but you haven’t brought any isn’t it ? 

Now open your website url.

And when you see this

You owe me a Party. :p

Don’t worry if you don’t see a similar thing wait more, go play with your dog. I wants dog, my dad won’t allow me to pet one :(

Actually now you have almost made your website.

Let us take a look at what all we have done.

Now all we have to do is put something to be visible by your visitors. That is what we call a Website.

A website is a web page or group of webpages meant to provide some service. Service may refer to entertainment, news, games etc.

Now there are different ways of setting up a website. Manually you may create HTML/PHP webpages and upload it to your hosting account. But let us assume we don’t know any thing like that(HTML, PHP etc).

Now we move to the most important part. We will be installing the Script.

A script refers to a group of commands and coding which result into webpages. For eg. WordPress, Joomla, PHProxy, PHurl, Chevereto etc.

First of recollect what is the purpose of your website.

Say for example if you want to create a Blog we will simply install WordPress, or Joomla.

P.S: I never used Joomla. Just heard about it :p

If you want to create a Proxy site we will simply install PHProxy, Glype etc.

For image hosting site we install Chevereto, I don’t remember any other. :p

Overall the thing is that there are scripts for almost anything. Just make a little google search and you will find  the required script.

Now as for tutorial we will install WordPress in next post.

This time I’m sharing my thought about different mobile communications operator in India and their  Prepaid service.

Since when I got my first phone a Nokia 3560 it was I guess, I had MTNL Trump Prepaid sim. Soon I moved to reliance, then again back to MTNL. Then Airtel, and then again MTNL Trump and now Vodafone. Phew.. :p

In between all of this I also tried some other networks with the sims of my friends and here’s all what I conclude.

MTNL Trump Prepaid

I used to love it and still love it. Their network never fails thanks to BSNL collaboration I guess.

They are cheap, actually similar too others, there’s lack of cheap Plans. Say, 3G Internet, cheapest top-up available is of INR 50 which gives you 60 mb of usage for a month. Its better to use their 3G Internet without getting any package because it costs same. Its 1paise/10 kb cheapest among all prepaid networks. On monthly basis you can only rely on some  INR 1800 pack. Message cards are just good enough and gets you 600 Local SMS and 400 STD for just INR 30.

But one thing I really hate is their customer care. There was some Paid service which got started and cost INR 30/month and the MTNL guys were just not shutting it down. I had to dump my First Mobile number then. :(

Reliance 3G

I don’t know if anyone uses it these days or not. Their service just sucks ! Actually Sucks^infinity. :p

Their network was just not good enough at most time of the day. No signal in Andaman Nicobar islands(family holiday trip you know). Whenever I call their Customer Care, they pick up the call but then say "We are actually having a system upgrade so we cannot do this/that".

In short "I hate it". but their CDMA network is quite well. But still Reliance is Reliance and yes I had a CDMA phone too. :p

I used it just because of their message card. Which at first was a recharge of INR 11 and then you can do 1p/SMS. And now that recharge cost INR 26. Not good enough to impress. :/

Bharti Airtel

Quite awesome they are !

Used them for some 3 months and never had a single problem.

Many Internet packs available. I had used INR 5/50mb(1day) and INR18/250mb(3days) of 2G Internet.

Message card cost INR 34 for 350SMS/month.

Vodafone

Currently using Vodafone. And well satisfied with the service. Just a little thing to mind is the Internet pack which cost INR 4/20mb only for a day. And the other one is INR 14/200 mb for 3 days. But Internet packs doesn’t matter to me anymore. Thanks to Airtel Broadband :p

Message card  costs INR 35/350 Local SMSes and there’s another for INR 49 for 700 Local/STD SMSes.

Some other network I used a day or two.

Aircel

A good network to hang out with. Saying this because they have just too many top-ups and recharges that we actually want. Message card starts from INR 9/110 sms for a month. I sometimes want to move to Aircel from Vodafone but cannot because MNP(mobile number portability) not valid for my sim yet. Have to use at least 3 months.

TATA Docomo

No Idea !

Okay I have a little idea for this. This network is just similar to Airtel and Vodafone (my friends says so).

Virgin

Are you kidding me ! I thought they’re dead ! No body gives a damn to earning 10 paise for hanging on a call for a minute. People want Signal availability which Virgin fails to give.

What is it ?

Did I missed anything ? oh yes, where the hell are Uninor and Cheers ?

Simple I never used them so I’m not saying anything about them. You don’t want me to lie in my post, isn’t it ! :p

Seriously, it happened with me. I forgot my Paypal account password and Security questions’ answer too. I looked in saved passwords in my Google chrome but no solution.

So here is how you see the saved passwords in your browser:

For Google Chrome

Click on “Customize and Control Google Chrome”>>Options>>Personal Stuff>>Manage saved passwords.

And there you go, find the site for which you want password and click show.

For FireFox

Click on the Menu>>Options>>Options>>Security

Click on Saved Passwords and you will see what you’re looking for.
